Automation Of Power Of Attorney
Prime Minister Imran Khan launched the automation of the Power of Attorney for Overseas Pakistanis during a ceremony held recently at the Prime Minister's House. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood and Chairman NADRA Muhammad Tariq Malik were also present.The Foreign Minister highlighted that this project involved extensive legislative and technological work and was completed in a very short span of time. He reiterated that the Government attached utmost importance to the welfare of overseas Pakistanis under the guidance of the Prime Minister. He stated that welfare of the Pakistani community was one of the major functions of our Missions abroad alongwith economic diplomacy.The Prime Minister, in his speech, stressed upon the need for digitalization. He said that technology helps in simplification of procedures and the government was taking all possible measures for digitalization of various sectors.During the ceremony, an Agreement was signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and NADRA, under which NADRA will provide 24/7 uninterrupted online services for attestation of Power of Attorney.Automation of attestation of Power of Attorney has been a longstanding demand of the Overseas Pakistanis and will facilitate those who have to travel long distances from different cities and far-off places to the Missions. This automated system will reduce costs and minimize hassle by providing attestation services at the doorsteps.Instead of physically appearing in the Embassy/High Commission for attestation of Power of Attorney, the executants can now apply online without appearing in person.Procedure for online attestation of Power of Attorney will be as follows:Step: 1The user or executor shall visit the online portal and sign up in order to be facilitated by online services to apply for the attestation and administration of any oath.Step: 2Once logged in, the details of executor, attorney, witnesses as well as all relevant documents are required to be uploaded.Step: 3Upon successful verification of the details by NADRA and successful fee payment of $36/, Pakistan Mission Abroad, will conduct online interview.Step: 4Upon successful conduct of the process Pakistan Mission Abroad will issue receipt.Step: 5The executer can then print the receipt and physically dispatch the instrument and receipt both to the relevant agent or nominee, as the case may be.Now there is no need to go to the Embassy/High Commission for Attestation of Power of Attorney!For further information please visit: https://poa.nadra.gov.pk/

Launch Of Foreign Minister's Portal In Five Pakistan Missions Abroad
http://mofa.gov.pk/launch-of-foreign-ministers-portal-in-five-pakistan-missions-abroad/As announced by Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi on 16 June 2021, under the Vision FO Thought Leadership Platform, the pilot phase of the Foreign Minister's Portal (FMP) has been launched today.In its pilot phase, the FMP is available online for overseas Pakistanis and foreign nationals residing in the jurisdiction of five Pakistan Missions abroad, namely, Barcelona, Dubai, Jeddah, London and New York. The Pakistani community and foreigners can download the App (Foreign Minister's Portal) from Android store from today, & later on from iOS store also, to register their problems, suggestions and feedback.Launched under the supervision of the Foreign Minister, the cardinal objective of the Portal is to directly engage with our Diaspora by providing them remote access to the Missions through modern means of communication. This will also help to assess the nature of the issues being faced by overseas Pakistanis leading towards their better resolution.Gradually, the scale of the Portal will be widened to all Pakistan Missions aboard.

Information For Pakistanis Regarding Bank Accounts In Pakistan
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has exempted Overseas Pakistanis from biometric verification to operate their bank accounts in Pakistan. The banks in Pakistan have been permitted to utilize NADRA Verisys system instead of biometric verification. Overseas Pakistanis would only be required to provide reasonable evidence/proof, like copy of valid Passport, Visa, CNIC and NICOP, regarding their residency status.Dormancy of Bank Accounts11The SBP has clarified that an account not operated by the holder for a period of one year would be classified as dormant.Activation of Dormant AccountsA dormant account can be activated upon a formal request through postal/email address, registered mobile or landline number by the customer, Verification will be done through NADRA Verisys system only.For ComplaintsAny specific issue or complaint concerning any bank regarding the facilitation of Overseas Pakistanis in compliance with aforementioned instructions, can be lodged with SBP through following contacts:Postal Address: The Director, Banking Conduct & Consumer Protection Department, State Bank of Pakistan, I.I.
